The Frisco Box Car No. 6014-335 was produced from 1963 until the close of the Post War Period in 1969.
It was cataloged as a separate sale item and was issued in an ORANGE picture box that was rubber-stamped "-335" on the box end. Note that only the number "6014" was shown on the car. Produced on a WHITE body with BLACK heat-stamped lettering, this 8-1/2" box car has late AAR trucks that came with disc couplers, or one disc and one solid coupler. Any of these cars that have bar-end trucks are the result of a chassis substitution, most likely from the No. X6014 Baby Ruth box car.
As listed in the Production Table, there are three variations of this box car:
Variation C: Type IIa body with coin slot. The Lionel Service Manual lists this car under the number 6014-225. No box was produced with this number designation. 1963 Production.
Variation D: Type IIb body without coin slot. Produced under No. 6014-335 in over printed picture box in 1964.
Variation E: Type III body found both with and without coin slot. 1965-68 Production.
We’ve listed the 1969 production of the ORANGE variation of this car, No. 6014-85, separately.
