The Remote Control Uncoupling Track No. 6149 was available only from 1964 until 1966, and was again produced in the last two years of the Post War Era 1968-69. This track functioned the same as the No. 6029 but lacked the BLACK base. In fact, it looked just like a piece of O27 Gauge track with a magnet installed on the center rail.
It was controlled by a No. 0190-25 HO Switch that was included along with two wires. This switch was wired in between the track and the transformer. The two coiled wires were used to wire up this switch. Only one connector to this controller was needed because the other lead from the magnet was grounded to the outer rails on the track.
Only one instruction sheet was produced for this track. Dated 3/65 with BLACK print on WHITE paper this 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 sheet warned the user not to hold down the uncoupling button on the controller for more than three seconds to prevent over-heating of the magnet.
There are two variations:
Variation A: As described above.
Variation B: Packaged in a blister pack that is numbered B6149. This variation is illustrated to the right and was only available in 1966. The value of this variation is dependent upon the inclusion of the packaging. |
