LIONEL TRAINS LEHIGH VALLEY GE 44-TON DIESEL SWITCHER No. 627 |
The Lionel Lehigh Valley No. 627 Switcher was available in 1956 and 1957, with an unpainted RED body that had a WHITE painted stripe and heat-stamped number and railroad logo on the sides. This body was mounted on a BLACK sheet-metal frame that had disc operating couplers at each end. This engine had a Type IID motor, one axle Magnetraction, and a three position directional unit that was adjustable from underneath the chassis. The only variation has two axle Magnetraction (Variation B). |
All of the Lionel GE 44-Ton units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 Gauge track, but they will run equally well on O Gauge track. |
