The Topic of the Site The submitted site must be about trains, either prototype or model railroading. |

Foreign Language Sites Without an English Version It would be impossible for us to evaluate a site in another language since we would not understand it. You will need to have an English version uploaded as we will not evaluate sites that use online translators. The reason for this is because the online translators are not consistent in accurately translating other languages and may not portray the site the way it should be read. |

Five or More Pages of Content The site must have at minimum of five or more pages of content to be considered for our award. NOTE: pages of Links, Guest Books, Awards Received Pages, Forums, Chats Rooms, Web-rings, and Picture Galleries are excluded as content. |

Family Friendly Sites found that contain any form of pornography, violence, anarchy, racism, or illegal activity, or links to such sites, will be disqualified. Illegal activities are classified as, but not restricted to, information about and/or links to Warez, cracks, hacking, etc. |

Sites that Freeze or Crash My Computer This usually occurs when a site contains far too many graphics or the coding is incorrect. We will go back and try again, but if it happens a second time then the site will be disqualified. |
Under Construction Sites that contain "Under Construction" or "Coming Soon" text or signs. A good site is always under construction. Therefor, there is no need to add text or signs to that effect. If you find the need to add these then your site is not complete. Pages that have no significant content will also result in disqualification. |

Copyright Infringement Copyright is very important. If you are using graphics, music etc., a site should have a copyright statement, the site would also have an acknowledgement of the artist, author or composer of an item that is copyrighted. We may ask for proof of permissions gained. DETAILS |

Bandwidth Stealing All graphics on your site should reside on your site and should not be linked from another site without permission. This is classed as bandwidth stealing. Exceptions will be allowed for Counters, and GuestBooks. DETAILS |
External links open within a Frameset If your site uses Frames, then links to other sites should NOT open within these frames. In addition to being just plain ugly, this really confuses your visitors as to which site they are viewing and plays havoc with your navigation system. |
Password Protected or Membership Required Sites The site must be easily accessible and viewable to the evaluator without entering a password. Giving us the password is not acceptable. Your site should be accessible to all. |
Downloads Sites that require us to download something in order to view the site properly. It is really annoying when we visit a site and we find out that we have to download something in order to view the site correctly. This includes things like custom cursors, icons, etc. |
Sites that have the Right Click Mouse Button Disabled The main reason this will result in disqualification is because there are a lot of people out there that are left handed and depend on that right button for surfing the internet. By disabling the right mouse button they would be prevented from accessing such sites comfortably. A lot of people disable the right mouse button trying to ensure that graphics on the site are not taken and used by someone else. However, disabling the right mouse button is ineffectual in doing this because there are a number of programs out there that will still obtain the graphics. |

Sites Built on Flash Flash pages are fantastic, BUT we need to consider those that do not have the capabilities to view flash. If your site contains a flash introduction or other pages then there should also be a alternative version provided for each of those pages. |
Mouse Trailers and/or Comet Cursors These are about as irritating as scraping your nails across a chalkboard, especially when you’ve seen them so many times before, and using any of these will bring a quick disqualification. However, using dhtml code that changes the cursor into a "hand" or some other object but then releases it when you leave the site is acceptable if this is tastefully done. |

Turn Off Sound Option Music, is well, music to our ears, but sometimes we just don’t want to listen to it. So, if there is sound on your website, make certain that it can be turned off or the site will be disqualified. |
