The Lionel Columbia Type 2-4-2-Locomotive No. 1655 would be available for two years beginning in 1948. The number "1655" is rubber stamped on a BLACK painted die-cast body. Equipped with nickel ornamental bell and whistle on the top of the boiler, it featured wire hand rails, a light and headlight lens. A three position directional unit whose control lever protrudes through the top of the boiler just in front of the cab, controls the direction of the engine. The No. 6654W tender was rubber-stamped "LIONEL LINES," was of all sheet metal construction, and was equipped with a whistle and staple-end trucks with one magnetic coupler. There are no variations. This locomotive was designed to work on O27 track, but will also run on the larger radius O gauge track.
