The Lionel Adriatic Type 2-6-4-Locomotive No. 2018 would be released concurrently with the No. 2037, but lacked Magnetraction. It was available beginning in 1956 until 1959, and again in 1960 and 1961. This locomotive shares the same boiler with the No. 2026 (1951), 2029, 2036, 2037, 2037-500 and 637. Equipped with drive and connecting rods only, this engine had a three position directional unit whose control lever protrudes through the top of the boiler right in front of the cab, sheet-metal trailing truck, smoke unit, headlight with lens and spoked driving wheels. There are five variations:

Variation A: Rubber-stamped number on cab and came with a No. 6026T tender with bar-end trucks with one magnetic coupler that sometimes had a tab. (1956)

Variation B: Heat-stamped number on cab and came with a No. 6026W tender with bar-end trucks that had one tabbed coupler. (1956)

Variation C: Came with No. 1130T tender with bar-end trucks and one magnetic coupler. (1957)

Variation D: Came with No. 1130T tender with AAR trucks and one disc coupler. (1958-59)

Variation E: BLUE painted engine with a No. 6026T tender from "The Boys Set" (unknown date). Extremely rare.

This locomotive was sold in 027 Gauge sets, but it will work equally well on the wider radius of O Gauge track.
