LIONEL TRAINS ROCK ISLAND FA DIESEL No. 2041 |
The Lionel Rock Island FA No. 2041 would be the last of the Alco FAs issued in 1969. This diesel did not have a horn. The powered unit was equipped with traction tires on the power axles, and a two position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body. A single vertical worm drive Type IIB motor powers two axles. The lettering was heat-stamped on these units and the sheet metal chassis have solid non-operating couplers. There are no variations. |
All of the Lionel Alco FA units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 gauge track, but they will run equally well on O gauge track. |
