LIONEL TRAINS BURLINGTON FA DIESEL A UNIT No. 216 |
The Lionel Burlington FA A Unit No. 216 was available only in 1958. Lionel had the same problems with this SILVER diesel that it had with the others that were painted this color. Today, a premium is paid for paint that is bright and shiny. This engine is hi-lighted with RED stripes, heat-stamped lettering, and used a Type IIE motor, two axle Magnetraction, and was equipped with a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body. |
The engine was lighted, had a sheet metal frame, and there were non-operating solid couplers on each end. There are no variations. This Burlington Alco has an open pilot with the small ledge that is prown to being cracked or broken. Care should be taken when handling this diesel. |
