The Lionel Wabash F-3 No. 2367 has an A Unit that was painted BLUE with a GRAY painted upper portion and WHITE lower portion. The B Unit was an unpainted BLUE plastic shell and painted GRAY, and WHITE. Both units have YELLOW heat-stamped lettering in most instances. Reproduction shells have silk-screened application of these colors. The chassis is BLUE as is the front pilot skirt on the A Unit, and the truck side frames are BLACK.
This engine has louvered roof vents, filled in portholes, cast in side ladders, magnetic disc coupler on the front end of the A Unit. All other couplers are solid and non-operating. This diesel was equipped with a horn that was operated by a D Cell battery, and it has a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from underneath the chassis. Dual vertical worm drive motors powered each axle that utilized Magnetraction. Produced in 1955.
The "B Unit" has a thin white stripe that goes to the ends of the body and, aside from being unpainted, this feature distinguishes itself from the "B Unit" that is used with the No. 2240. |
