Lionel Trains Locomotive No. 242The Lionel Columbia Type 2-4-2-Locomotive No. 240 was issued uncataloged in Sears Military Set No. 9820 in 1964.

Produced on a painted BLACK Type X plastic body with WHITE heat-stamped number on the cab. It has a plastic motor that has a traction tire that was controled by a two position directional unit whose control lever was located on top of boiler between the domes. This locomotive was lighted and has a headlight lens and marker jewels on the front. It came equipped with a liguid smoke unit and a No. 242T streamlined tender that used AAR trucks with one solid non-operating coupler. There are no variations.

This locomotive was designed to work on O27 Gauge track and it will also run on O Gauge track.
