The Lionel Lines Chatham Pullman Car No. 2422 when first released was cataloged as O Gauge in 1950. However, for all subsequent years (1951-53), it was shown in the catalogs as an O27 car. This car was based on the standard Pullman prototype of the time. This passenger car has a SILVER painted body with a GRAY painted roof, and BLACK stripes, window trim, and heat-stamped lettering. This car is lighted by two lamps that are held in place by metal brackets that are also used to hold the roof to the body. There are people silhouettes on the interior window inserts. It came with Type IV die-cast four-wheel passenger trucks equipped with electronic coil couplers. There are two variations:
Variation A: GRAY roof with BLACK stripes and window trim. Available in 1950 and 1951.
Variation B: SILVER roof with no BLACK stripes or window trim. Available in 1952 and 1953. |
