Lionel Trains Operating Freight Station No. 356The Freight Station No. 256 was available from 1950 until 1953. But it was not until 1952 that it was available with adhesive poster signs that went on the structure. The signs were:
No. 256-35 Airex No. 256-36 U.S. Savings Bonds No. 256-37 Airex No. 256-39 Be a Scout No. 256-38 Red Cross No. 256-40 Community Chest

These posters, along with two 81-32 connecting wires came in a in a manila envelope with the number "256-42" printed on it. The connecting wires connect to two binding posts on the bottom of this station that was illuminated by two No. L363 lamps. It came with three billboards that attached to the fence: Rival Dog Food, Sunoco, and Baby Ruth. There are two variations:

Variation A: DARK GREEN roof.

Variation B: KELLY GREEN roof. Note that these roofs can be interchanged with those issued with No. 257 and No. 356.
