The Lionel U.S. Marines Mobile Missile Launcher No. 45 was painted OLIVE DRAB on a GRAY shell with heat-stamped WHITE lettering and a BLUE operator sitting at the control panel.

First issued in 1960 as part of the "Land-Sea-and-Air Gift Pack" Set No. 1805, it would be available for separate sale for two more years.

This engine is equipped with Magnetraction, a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the top of the body, Type IIF motor, RED light on the roof, and one solid die-cast coupler. There are no variations.

Lionel issued this unit for use on O27 Gauge track, but it will also operate on the larger radius curves of O Gauge track.
