The Boston and Maine Caboose No. 6017-100 production spanned eight years and encompassed three different body types: Dies 1A, 3C and 4. The main difference was that this caboose came both with and without ladder slots. This caboose came with AAR trucks that usually had one operating disc coupler. This car was cataloged as No. 6017-100, but only the number 6017 appears on this caboose.

Variation A was an early production example (Die 1A) that was a VIOLET BLUE color and is rare. The B Variation is MEDIUM BLUE with a high gloss finish. The C Variation was MEDIUM to LIGHT BLUE in color and had a semi-gloss finish. Available in 1959, 1962, and 1965-66.
