The Lionel SP Type CaboosesThe A.T. & S. F. Caboose No. 6017-185 was produced in 1959 and 1960 on Type 3A and Type 4 dies. LIGHT GRAY painted RED plastic SP Type with RED or MAROON heat-stamped lettering. Note that only the number "6017" appears on the sides of the car. A blackened sheet metal chassis with hand rails fastens to the body with tabs. This caboose came AAR trucks with one disc coupler. There are two variations:

Variation A: Die 4 with ladder slots.
Variation B: Die 3A without ladder slots.
