The Lionel Seaboard No. 602 Switcher unlike its predecessor No. 601 had an interior light and solid non-operating couplers. Produced in 1957 and 1958 on a BLACK sheet metal frame, this diesel had a BLACK body with RED stripes and WHITE heat-stamped lettering and railroad herald decal on the cab. It used a Type IIE motor, two axle Magnetraction, and was equipped with a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from the bottom of the body. There are no variations.

This engine will run equally well on both O and O27 gauge track.
