The Lionel Lines Caboose No. 6047 first appeared in the 1959 advance catalog but was not shown in a yearly catalog until 1963. It was only during this year that it was available for sale. Still, there are five variations to the caboose:

Variation A: Die 1A MEDIUM RED unpainted plastic that came with set No. 1105 in 1959. It had arch bar trucks and one solid coupler.
Variation B: Die 2A was available in various shades of RED and this variation also had arch bar trucks and one solid coupler.
Variation C: Die 2A MEDIUM RED had one AAR and one arch bar truck. The arch bar truck had a solid coupler.
Variation D: Die 2A MEDIUM RED with AAR trucks and one disc coupler.
Variation E: Die 4 LIGHT RED with arch bar trucks and one solid coupler.

This caboose was found in many uncatalogued sets of the day, which accounts for the wide varieties that are available.
