The Lionel Burlington No. 629 Switcher was issued only in 1956 and used the same paint scheme as the GP-7 No. 2328.
It has a sheet metal chassis, Type IID motor, one axle Magnetraction, and a three position directional unit that was adjustable from underneath the chassis. There are headlight lenses at both ends, but only one end is lighted. Both of the couplers are magnetic operating.
This engine is very difficult to find with a quality SILVER finish and a premium is paid today for those units that are in excellent or better condition. There are no variations. |
