Girder Bridge Car No. 6418 Variation A

Lionel Trains Girder Bridge Flat Car No. 6418Girder Bridge Car No. 6418 was produced on a die-cast chassis with no number on the sides. However, early cars would have the number imprinted on the underside, but when Lionel introduced the Transformer Car No. 6518 that used the same chassis, this number had to be removed. All subsequent editions would have the number of the car on the load that it carried. Produced from 1955 until 1957, this car had bar-end trucks and the latter issues would have tabbed couplers. There are four variations of this car. Three of these variations have to do with the color of the girder bridge. A Variation: ORANGE, B Variation: PINK ORANGE, and C Variation: BLACK. The last variation has BLACK "LIONEL" lettering that is outlined in WHITE of the same type that was used on the No. 214 Plate Girder Bridge: Variation D.

Note: Due to the size of this car it will only operate of "O" gauge track, and even then, the overhang is such that I would recommend that it be used on 072 track.
