LIONEL TRAINS BOSTON & MAINE BOX CAR No. 6464-475
The Boston & Maine Box Car No. 6464-475 was available from 1957 until 1960, and was again produced from 1965-66 and in 1968. Production spanned three different body types that have various shades BLUE body with BLACK and WHITE heat-stamped lettering and Multi-block doors. Early issues in 1957 have bar-end trucks with tabbed couplers and all of the later issues came with AAR trucks that were equipped with disc couplers.
There are ten variations:
Variation A: Painted MEDIUM BLUEType IIB body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation B: Unpainted MEDIUM BLUEType IIB body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation C: Painted MEDIUM BLUEType III body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation D: Unpainted MEDIUM BLUEType III body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation E: Unpainted MEDIUM BLUEType IV body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL" Variation F: Unpainted DARK BLUEType IV body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation G: Same as Vairation F except with "BLT / BY LIONEL". Variation H: Painted MEDIUM BLUEType IVGRAY plastic body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL". Variation I: Painted DARK BLUEType IVYELLOW or GRAY plastic body with "BLT / BY LIONEL". Variation J: Painted PURPLE BLUEType IVBLUE or GRAY plastic body with "BLT 2-57 / BY LIONEL".
