The Gulf 2-Dome No. 6465

The Gulf 2-Dome No. 6465 was only available in 1958 on a Type 9 frame. Equipped with AAR trucks with disc couplers, this car has two BLACK variations and one more common version that was produced in GRAY. This car was often available in boxes that had either a "-60" or "-85" suffix attached to the number. These suffixes have nothing to do with these cars and why Lionel used them is a mystery.
