The Exploding Explosives Box Car No. 6470 component parts would fly in all directions when hit with a missile. The 6464 Series Box Car was the basis of this design that had shortened rivet patterns to accommodate the WHITE "EXPLOSIVES" lettering. There is one additional variation that was ORANGE-RED in color. Available in 1959 and 1960, this car was equipped with AAR trucks and disc couplers.
