The Lehigh Valley Hopper Car No. 6476-25 used a Type VI unpainted RED plastic body that has WHITE heat-stamped lettering.
This car was produced from 1959 until 1963 and shows the number "25000" on the sides of the car. This is not Lionel’s production number. The No. 6476 production number is shown on the third panel from the right beneath the built date. The suffix "-25" was not listed in the catalogs until 1963 – the final year of production. Cars produced this year have one solid non-operating coupler and one disc coupler on AAR trucks. All of the earlier issues have AAR trucks equipped with two disc couplers. Almost all of the 6476 cars are distinguished by the fact that they have operating couplers at both ends of the car. This version of this hopper car had did not have steps at the four corners of the car, nor is it equipped with a brake wheel.
There are four variations:
Variation A: Has a CORRAL PINK body.
Variation B: Has a MEDIUM RED body.
Variation C: Has a LIGHT RED translucent body.
Variation D: Has a DARK RED translucent body.
