The Cherry Picker Car No. 6512 could have been used for any number of purposes, but the reason it is listed here is because of the way that Lionel illustrated this car in their catalogs. Issued in 1962 and 1963, they invariably showed this car being used as a lift for astronauts to reach the space capsule located at the tip of a rocket. The arm extends to twice its length as well as swivels. The BLACK car was mold 6511-2 with WHITE letters and it was not numbered. Came with AAR trucks with disc couplers. There are no known variations.
