The Lionel Smoking Caboose No. 6557 A Variation

The Lionel Smoking Caboose No. 6557The Smoking Caboose No. 6557 was available only in 1958 and 1959 and was produced on a Die 3C. Lionel put a smoke unit in this caboose and it came with a half ounce bottle of No. 909 smoke fluid. The No. 55-300 lamp for this car was specially produced to handle the increased current caused by the addition of the smoke unit.

The B Variation has a DARK TUSCAN painted body, and Variation C has a BROWN smoke deflector.

The A Variation shown to the left has a TUSCAN painted body, and all variations came with bar-end trucks and one tabbed coupler.
