The Depressed Center Cable Reel Car No. 6561 was made from a die-cast chassis adapted from the searchlight car and came in various shades of GRAY. It usually had BLACK "6561 LIONEL LINES 6561" lettering on the sides. The cable reels contained wound rolls of a large diameter aluminum wiring and "LIONEL" was cast in the sides. Lionel sold these reels with actual insulated electrical wire and these reels are sometimes found on this car. There are three variations that involve the color of these reels. The B Variation have ORANGE reels and the C Variation have LIGHT ORANGE reels. Produced from 1953 until 1956, this car came with Type 6 bar-end trucks, two brake wheels and four steps. The brake wheels and steps are often either broken or missing.
