This collection of farm out-buildings and animals first appeared in 1956 housed in a colorful one piece box. They were made with RED walls and WHITE roofs or these colors were reversed. There is a slightly darker RED variation of these buildings that is also available. We’ve illustrated the parts that make up these buildings to the left and the animals are listed below.

The component parts of this kit are:

None of the component parts of these buildings have been reproduced and supply is limited to what can be found in existing kits. The commonly missing parts are the dog house , dog house roof , and the trough .

The animals that came in this kit were BROWN in color. Some of these animals were produced in a WHITE color that is much rarer. The animals that are required to complete this kit are pictured to the left. They are:

1. Chicken with head up (6 each)
2. Chicken with head down (3 each)
3. Duck (2 each)
4. Rooster
5. Dog
6. Rabbit
7. Goat
8. Cat

The most commonly missing animals are the rabbit and, of course, the cat . These are the smallest of these animals. There are no reproductions available and supply is limited to what can be found in existing kits.

When Bachmann introduced the Scenic Classic Series in 1980, these structures not only came with the animals, but also included the Farm Implements, along with a scenic mat that created a complete scene that is illustrated to the right.

The current issue of the Farm Buildings has been issued with CREAM walls and BROWN roofs that distinguishes it from the older issues. Click on the thumbnail image to the right to see a larger view.
