1618 TV Station Box 1964 & 45964 TV Station Box 45924 TV Station Silver Series Box

The TV Station was introduced in 1957 under the No. 1618. This TV Station was again released in a RED and WHITE box in 1980 under the No. 1964. In 1992 the number was changed to 45964. Under these last two numbers the lettering on these TV Stations was not painted. There are only two color variations to this structure, the walls are either RED with a WHITE roof, or WHITE walls with a RED roof. We’ve noted the major parts problems below.

TV Station Antenna

TV Station Antenna
The lower part of the TV Station antenna is composed of two pieces that slide together. Often, one or the other of these pieces are broken at the top where the upper part of the antenna slides into the lower at where the arrow is pointing.

TV Station Antenna Glow Tip

TV Station Antenna Tip
The tip that fits on the end of the upper part of the TV Station antenna, as indicated by the arrow, was made in both WHITE and RED colors and should be the same as the lower sections of the antenna. This part is often missing and it is available as a reproduction.

TV Station Front Door

TV Station Front Door
This clear door is identical to those used on the Factory, Large Super Market and other structures. However, some kits came with a decal that adhered to this door. This door is sometimes missing from this kit. This part is currently not available and supplies are limited to those that are found in existing kits.

TV Station Front Door Sticker

TV Station Front Door Sticker

This is one of the true Plasticville rarities. This sticker is shown to the left larger than it actually is, which is only 1-1/8 inch square. It is almost never found in these kits. Printed on clear mylar, it is designed to be pealed off of the brown backing paper and applied to the front doors.

It's small size is undoubtedly the reason why it is so rare.

The TV Transmitting Station White Walled Variation
TV Station Common Wall Fault

TV Station Common Wall Fault

The left side wall of this structure is often found with broken connecting locks. In the picture to the left two of these locks are missing where the arrows are pointing. This is caused by improper dis-assembly of these walls.

There is no replacement part and availability is limited to what can be found in existing kits.

45924 TV Station Silver Series Box

Silver Series Issue TV Station

This issue came sealed in an individual bag with identical colors to what had been issued before - either RED or WHITE walls. However, unlike the stock Bachmann photo to the right, the lettering on this structure was not painted. This is not confirmed. If you have this structure in one of these boxes we would like to hear from you. Please use the contact link at the bottom of this page.
