LIONEL TRAINS LOCOMOTIVE No. 247
The Lionel Columbia Type 2-4-2 Locomotive No. 247 was shown in the consumer catalog in 1959 and the advanced catalogs of 1960 and 1961. Produced on a painted BLACK Type IV or Type V body with a BLUE running board stripe and WHITE heat-stamped number on the cab. This locomotive did not have Magnetraction, and instead had weights mounted on the front and the rear of the locomotive.
This locomotive came equipped with a two position directional unit that controls a metal motor. There is a headlight lens in the front and it is lighted. There is also a liquid smoke unit that uses No. 909 smoke fluid.
The small streamlined tender No. 247T was heat-stamped on a BLUE painted bar that spanned the lenght of the tender for the "BALTIMORE AND OHIO" railroad. Came equipped with AAR trucks with one disc coupler on the rear.
There are two variations: Variation A: Type IV body. Variation B: Type V body.
This locomotive was designed to work on O27 Gauge track. It will also run on the larger radius of O Gauge track.
