This flat channeled extruded aluminum observation car has SILVER painted end top, skirt, and vestibule end.
Note in the rear view illustrated to the right the BROWN dried glue stains around the edges of the stripes indicating that these stripes are original.
This car has RED stripes that have SILVER lettering. Lionel made two different stripes for this car and they are sometimes found mix-matched on individual cars. This accounts for the two variations:
Variation A: The "SANTA FE" lettering is 2-13/16" long on the stripe.
Variation B: The "SANTA FE" lettering is 3-1/8" long on the stripe.
This car was designed to work on the larger radius of O gauge track only. |
