Lionel Trains Code Transmitter Beacon Set No. 506The Code Transmitter Beacon Set No. 299 was available from 1961 until 1963, and applied one of the Lionel Science kits to their train accessories. The key could send Morse Code to the beacon at the top of the tower. On top of the key was a SILVER decal that printed out the Morse code.

The tower has a BLACK plastic base and top with a GRAY searchlight. The original lamp, No. L402, would flash on its own if connected directly to the power source without the use of the key. There are no known variations.

The best way to wire this beacon tower is to an accessory circuit with variable voltage so that the intensity of the light can be adjusted.
