Lionel Trains Missle Launching Platform No. 470 No. 470 Box Side (1960-62)

Lionel Trains Missle Launching Platform No. 470The Lionel Missile Launching Platform No. 470 would rotate and raise and lower the trajectory of the missile that it fired. Came with a No. 6470 exploding box car that was housed in its own box inside the No. 470 box. This accessory differs from the No. 443 only because that it came with the exploding box car insead of the the No. 943 Exploding Ammo Dump.

It has a TAN plastic base and quonset hut, BLACK missile cradle, BLUE missile launcher, BLUE, WHITE, and RED No. 6650-80 missile, and a YELLOW microwave antenna on the roof of the hut.

There are two different boxes that were issued with this launcher. In 1959 it came in YELLOW box and from 1960 until 1962 it was housed in an ORANGE box. There are also two different instructions sheets. Both are numbered 470-5 and dated 9-59, but one is brinted in BLACK ink, and one with BLUE ink. Catalogued from 1959 to 1962, there are no variations.
