Lionel Trains Small Gondola CarsThe Lionel Gondola Car No. 6012 was cataloged between 1951 and 1956. Produced on a BLACK plastic body that has WHITE heat-stamped lettering, this car did not have a brake wheel or any type of load. The gondola body used for this issue lacks the undercarriage detail that would later be produced beginning with the No. 6042 in 1959.

Variation A: staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers. 1951 and early 1952 production.

Variation B: bar-end trucks with magnetic couples without tabs. late 1952 until 1955 production.
