The Lionel Jersey Central NW-2 Switcher No. 611 was available in 1957 and 1958. Produced on an unpainted BLUE body with painted ORANGE area and WHITE and heat-stamped lettering inscribed on the side name plates. It has the Jersey Central logo and number heat-stamped in BLUE on the sides of the cab.
This diesel has a BLACK sheet metal chassis, two solid non-operating couplers, ornamental horn and bell, front head light, Type IID motor with one axle Magnetraction, and was equipped with a three position directional unit whose control lever was adjustable from underneath the body.
The box for this engine is difficult to find.
There are three variations:
Variation A: Has a ROYAL BLUE body that has DARK BLUE lettering.
Variation B: Has a MEDIUM BLUE body with DARK BLUE lettering.
Variation C: Has a MEDIUM BLUE body with MEDIUM BLUE lettering.
This engine will run equally well on both O Gauge and O27 Gauge track. |
