The Lionel Santa Fe Work Caboose No. 6130 was made in 1961 and was again produced from 1965 until 1969. Early issues had the number "6130 ATSF" and "BUILT BY / LIONEL" heat stamped in WHITE on the sides of the tool bin in addition to the Santa Fe logo on the sides of the cab. The first issue had early AAR trucks while later releases had late AAR trucks. This caboose is usually found with one operating disc coupler. There are five variations:

Variation A: BLACK painted sheet metal frame with RED painted tool bin and cab and WHITE serif "LIONEL" rubber-stamped on the sheet metal chassis. Early 1961 production.

Variation B: is identical to Variation A except the tool bin and cab are painted a RED-ORANGE color.

Variation C: is identical to Variation A except the sheet metal chassis has been chemically blackened and the "LIONEL" lettering has been removed.

Variation D: Painted RED tool bin and cab with a chemically blackened unlettered metal chassis. Wood slats visible below and lettering plate and a blank builder’s plate. Most often found with one operating disc coupler and one solid non-operating coupler. Early 1966 production.

Variation E: Unpainted PALE RED tool bin and cab with an unlettered chemically blackened frame. Most often found with one operating disc coupler and one solid non-operating coupler. Late 1966 until 1969 production.
