NYC Gondola No. 6462 Variation O

The Lionel Large Gondoala CarsThe New York Central Gondola Car No. 6462 is listed in the Production Table as Variation O of the Type 2a unpainted RED body that has WHITE lettering. This car was available in 1954 and it was equipped with Type 6 bar-end trucks with magnetic couplers.

The steps have been eliminated as have the brake wheels. Note that the "N" of "NYC" is in the third panel, and that there are three lines of car data with "NEW 2-49" date in the fifth panel on this variation. Has been found in middle classic boxes that are numbered "6462-100." 1954 production.
