The New York Central Gondola Car No. 6462 is listed in the Production Table as Variation Q of the Type 2a painted RED body that has WHITE lettering. This car was available in 1954 and it was equipped with Type 6 bar-end trucks with magnetic couplers. The steps have been eliminated as have the brake wheels. Note that the "N" of "NYC" has moved to the third panel, and that there are three lines of car data and "NEW 2-49" heat-stamped on the sides on this variation.
