Early issues would have the heat-stamped lettering with three lines of car data to the right of the doors. Later issues had both BLUE and BLACK lettering and only two lines of data. Most of these cars had a circled "L" Lionel inscription on the side. On one side is a sliding aluminum control panel that is located to the left of the door. This car was available through 1956, and came with bar-end trucks that have magnetic couplers. Later issues would have tabbed couplers.
