The Lionel Work CabooseThe Lionel Rescue Unit Work Caboose No. 6814 was made from 1959 until 1961. This work caboose, called First Aid Medical Car on the box, was included in many of the Space & Military Sets that Lionel produced during these years.

Created on a GRAY sheet metal chassis, it came with a rescue worker, and WHITE tool boxes, oxygen tanks and stretchers that was inserted in the bed of the car. This caboose is difficult to find complete today with all of these components. Has a short smoke stack and came equipped with AAR trucks, with on disc coupler. Some units came with two disc couplers.

There are two variations:

Variation A: GRAY sheet metal chassis as described above.

Variation B: Did not come with the stretchers, oxygen tanks or worker. Has a painted or chemically blackened frame that was available through Sears in 1964.
