The Lionel 9-1/2’ Automobile Box CarsThe Pennsylvania No. X2758 Automobile Box Car is a pre-war car that was available in 1941 and 1942 with box couplers. Lionel was so eager to get into production in 1945 that they used up a supply they had of these car bodies and mounted them on post-war frames. Also available in 1946, this car came with a new post-war box which had the number "2458" on it. These cars are difficult to find today. Painted identical to the No. X2458, the variations involve the types of post-war trucks that were used:

Variation A: Type 1a trucks.
Variation B: Type 1b trucks.
Variation C: Type 2 trucks. This may be a service station repair.
