The flag pole was introduced in 1950. They were issued in a dealer box of one dozen. Some retailers, like F.W. Woolworth Co., removed the flag poles from this box and displayed them in bins along with the many other items that were introduced by Bachmann this year. Because retailers discarded the box it is very difficult to find today.

In 1954 Bachmann would include this item in the SC-4 School House as an added accessory along with many of their Master Units most notalbly the Airport Units. In 1957 the number 2027 replaced the designation FP-5.
