The Lionel Hudson Type 4-6-4-Locomotive No. 2055 introduced in 1953 and would continue to be available until 1955. Based on a Santa Fe prototype, this engine was equipped with Magnetraction, smoke, drive rod connecting rod valve gear, and there was a whistle in the tender. It shares the same boiler casting with the O gauge No. 665, No. 685 and the O27 gauge No. 2065. There are two variations:

Variation A: Rubber-stamped number on boiler sides, with a No. 2026W or No. 2046W tender that have bar-end trucks with a magnetic coupler. Produced in 1953.

Variation B: Heat-stamped number on boiler sides, with a No. 2026W tender that has bar-end trucks with one magnetic coupler. Produced in 1954 and 1955.

This locomotive shares that same trailing truck, that has plastic sides, with the No. 2065.
