The Satellite Launching Car No. 3519 would launch its satellite into space by the use of a 6019 or USC uncoupling track, or it could be activated manually.
Produced from 1961 until 1964, this car was shown with a BLUE or RED chassis in the 1961 catalog, but it only came as a GREEN flat car mold 3419-30 that was designed specifically modified for this car. Heat-stamped in WHITE the number of the car appears to the left of the "LIONEL" inscription on the sides indicating that it is equipped with early AAR trucks. In this instance, this car has operating disc couplers at both ends.
See No. 3509 for more specific information concerning the winder and the types of satellites that were used. There are no variations. |
