Lionel TrackRemote Control Track Section No. 6009 was used with O27 Track and was introduced after Lionel discontinued the Manumatic uncoupler No. 1009 that was used in Scout sets. This track was used in Lionel’s more economic sets between the years 1953 and 1955.

Unlike its more readily found companion, the No. 6019, this section would only function to uncouple cars that used magnetic couplers.

No. 6009 Box End

These sections came with a No. 96 Controller. There are several differences between this section and the No. 6029 that replaced it in 1955. In the 1955 Lionel catalog both sections of track are pictured.

On the No. 6009 the control wires are soldered onto the bottom of the track and spade connectors are on the other end of these wires to attach them to the controller, but on the No. 6029 there are screw terminals on the bottom of the track to attach the two coiled wires (that were included) that were used to connect this track to the controller.

The No. 6009 is not numbered and can only be identified by the above description, or by the number on the end of the box. Whereas, the No. 6029 has the designation "PT No. 6029" stamped on the bottom of the phenolic fillers that were used to occupy the areas where the control rails existed on the No. 6019.
