The Pennsylvania Gondola Car No. 6452 was first issued in 1948 and would be available for one more year. This car is identical to No. 2452 except for the number change. Produced on a Type 1b body. The 6000 series number implies that this car came with magnetic couplers, but it is also found with electronic coil couplers and some were reportedly sold as left over stock as late as 1950 as a component of the "Electronic Set." This BLACK painted car has WHITE heat-stamped lettering was not available after 1949. There are two variations:

Variation A: Numbered "6462" on the side and rubber-stamped "6452" on the underside with Type 3a staple-end trucks that have electronic coil couplers. 1948 Production.

Variation B: Numbered "6452" on the side and is most often found without a rubber-stamped number on the frame. Came with either Type 3b staple-end trucks with electronic coil couplers, or Type 4 staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers. 1949 production.
