Lionel Trains NYC Gondola No. 6462-25 Variation U

The Lionel Large Gondoala CarsThe New York Central Gondola Car No. 6462-25 is GREEN in color with WHITE lettering and was produced between 1954 and 1956 on a Type 2a body. These cars always came boxed with the "-25" suffix on the box ends, however only the number "6462" appears on the sides of the cars. There are no steps and usually there are no brake wheels. There are three variations:

Variation T: "N" is in the second panel with two lines of car data and usually had brake wheels. The pictured example above does not have brake wheels. Early 1954.
Variation U: "N" is in the third panel, three lines of car data and usually came without brake wheels. Has Type 6 trucks with magnetic couplers. 1955
Variation V: "N" is in the third panel, three lines of car data, but no brake wheels. Came with Type 7 bar-end trucks with tabbed couplers. 1956
