Lionel Trains Explosivies Car No. 6480 B Variation

Lionel Trains Explosives Car No. 6480The Exploding Explosives Box Car No. 6480 was shown in the 1961 advanced catalog and was found in train sets sold through Sears during this year. Unlike the No. 6470 this issue had arch bar trucks with solid couplers. When struck with a missile the component parts would fly in all directions. The 6464 Series Box Car was the basis of this design that had shortened rivet patterns to accommodate the WHITE "EXPLOSIVES" lettering. There are two variations:
