The U.S.M.C. Helicopter Launching Car No. 3429 was available only in 1960 as a component of Set No. 1805 the "Land-Sea-and-Air Gift Pack." It was also part of at least one uncataloged military set that Lionel issued.
This car would release the helicopter with the use of a 6019 or USC uncoupling tracks after it had been wound manually. Came with a Type F Helicopter.
This OLIVE DRAB painted flat car that is the same as Variation C of the No. 3419 that has either a ROYAL BLUE or BLACK plastic chassis with WHITE heat stamped lettering and AAR trucks with disc couplers. Unlike other flat cars that are equipped with these trucks, the number "3429" is heat stamped to the right of the "LIONEL" inscription on the sides. This is contrary to Lionel’s practice of putting the number to the left side on these flat cars that came with AAR trucks. There are no variations.
