The Cable Reel Car No. 6402 was in the advance catalog of 1962, and was also available in 1964 through 1966, and again during the last year of post-war production: 1969. Produced on an 1877-3 mold, there are five variations of this car. One had a MAROON colored chassis, another came with AAR trucks with disc couplers, and a third had a BLUE boat on it instead of the cable reels. Most variations had empty ORANGE cable reels and came with arch bar trucks. The tie that holds the reels to the car is often missing.
