The Lionel Frontier Set No. 963 was available in 1959 and 1960 and came with 18 pieces of Plasticville. The set consisted of the following Plasticville items:

1. No. 1303 Log Cabin

2. No. 1007 Rustic Fence Nine fence sections only

3. No. 1606 Barnyard Animals 3 horses, 2 standing cows, and 1 sitting cow only

4. No. 1408 Windmill

5. No. 1005 Yard Pump

An instruction sheet numbered 963-10 that was dated 3-59 was included and is illustrated below. The same instruction sheet was included with the No. 963-100 that came with the Sears "Halloween Set" in 1960.

There are three variations:

Variation A: Housed in a Type II box.

Variation B: Came in a GRAY unmarked card stock box that has a top lift lid. This box was most likely designed to be used with Lionel’s Frontier Sets. See: No. 1862 and No. 1872.

Variation C: Similar to the B Variation except housed in a cardboard box with the number "963" written on one end. This box is believed to have originated with Madison Hardware.
